SLF OVC support is a program implemented in two districts of Pwani namely Mkuranga and Chalinze. The program reaches out to 600 OVC, 200 young women, and 50 teenage girls in the 2 districts. This report is intended to give an overview of the overall activities executed by the project in January /December 2022.
This program is aimed at improving the social and economic capacity of high-risk out-of-school teenage girls aged (13-19) and young women aged (20-30) through resilience and capacity building and enhancing psychosocial support for OVCs (Orphan and Vulnerable children). Currently, the program has been able to reach out to 311 households with 911 beneficiaries. That is to say, 600 OVC and 311 caregivers have received support in terms of economic stability, education, care, and protection, through household identification, assessment, enrolment, linkage to appropriate services, re-assessment towards self-independency, and graduation where a household vulnerability has been resolved.
